Simple and fluffy Indian naan
I posted an article about Afghan style grilled eggplant before, and this naan was eaten with that grilled eggplant. Of course, it can not only be paired with that grilled eggplant, but also with many different dishes, this naan has a light and fluffy taste. Pair with: Chinese stir-fry, Indian curry, vegetable soup, salad, etc. Versatile, strong affinity! Just started sharing recipes, welcome to communicate~
Indian naan practice
Step 1
In a large basin, pour warm water, yeast, sugar, salt, vegetable oil and stir well so that the yeast dissolves well. Then add the eggs and yogurt and mix well.
Step 2
Add flour, stir a little, and mix into a dough. If you have a dough kneading machine, you can use a kneading machine, if you don’t, knead slowly with your hands, and mix the dough for a while to fully blend the flour and wet ingredients. (I use a handheld noodle mixer)
Step 3
Put the dough in a basin, cover it with a piece and spread it on the basin, and let it ferment in a warm place indoors for about 1 hour, until the dough reaches twice the size.
Step 4
Place the dough on the panel, sprinkle a little dry noodle and divide evenly into 8 small doughs.
Step 5
Use a rolling pin to roll out the small dough into a long oval shape, about 1 cm thick.
Step 6
Heat the pan and brush a little oil, put the rolled dough cake in and bake it, brush a thin layer of oil on the surface of the dough cake for about 3 minutes, turn it over and bake for about 3 minutes to get out of the pan.
Step 7
One side of the baked cake has some small bulging bags. According to your personal taste, you can also add some ingredients to the cake surface, such as: chopped green onion, minced garlic, sesame seeds, etc., which are all good combinations.
Cooking techniques for Indian naan
If the dough is too hard or too soft, you can add water or noodles appropriately. How can you tell if it’s too soft or too hard??? If the dough is always stuck to your hands when you knead the dough, and the noodles are not in a ball, then it is too soft, you need to add noodles, add noodles little by little, don’t add too much, if you add too much, it will be too hard. The dough should be particularly easy to knead, if you find it difficult to knead, then it is too hard.
