[Indian Spice Milk Tea] (Recipe with Extra Spiced Syrup)

Jun’s father loves to drink spiced milk tea, as long as he drinks it several times a day at home. When I first got married, I had a slight complaint about making milk tea several times a day. After coming to the United States, because of Jun’s father’s work, the number of times he needed to make tea and drink tea decreased. I only make him spiced milk tea on weekends when I’m free. When I was making mint syrup a while ago, I had an idea and thought that adding spices to make syrup was just spice syrup! Wouldn’t it be very convenient to make a large bottle and put it in the refrigerator, when you want to drink tea? So I made this syrup and used it to make a cup of milk tea on weekend mornings, and Jun’s father didn’t realize that it was made of syrup at all! It tastes so good.

How to make Indian spice milk tea

Step 1

Put water, sugar and spices in a small pot, cut the ginger into small slices and add.

Bring to a boil over medium heat, then turn to medium-low heat and simmer for 30 minutes until slightly thickened.

Step 3

Filter the ginger cubes and spices, put the boiled syrup into a bottle and seal and refrigerate. (I made black tea with water from the remaining spices and ginger slices, and the syrup on the spices and ginger slices was sweet enough that there was no need to add sugar, so it was not wasted.) )

Step 6

Add 1-2 teaspoons of spice syrup to taste, mix well and drink.
