French toast

French toast

French toast is a classic of European and American breakfasts, just like the status of sweet steamed buns and sweet buns in our country. Although it is called French toast, it originated in Rome (as early as the 5th century). The main point of its preparation is to use hard bread that has been left overnight, so its literal translation is actually “lost bread” (“forgotten bread”).

Toast practice

Step 1

Combine all ingredients except the bread and place in a shallow bowl with a large opening.

Step 2

Heat a saucepan with oil (coconut, vegetable, canola, etc.) over medium-low heat.

Step 3

Dip the bread into the liquid and leave the bread unfaced for about 15-20 seconds, adjusting according to the firmness and thickness of your bread.

Step 4

Fry the soaked bread in a pan until golden brown on both sides. Put enough oil, otherwise it will be easy to get soaked in the bottom. You can choose to fry it with herbs (sage, thyme, rosemary) so that it will have a vanilla aroma.

Step 5

Plating: Top with fresh strawberries, coconut cream, maple syrup, and other toppings of your choice.
