Traditional French classic appetizers, let’s make them at home, this one is for 4 people.
How to make French onion soup
Step 1
Shred the onion, put olive oil in a pan and add the onion to low heat
Step 2
Add a small handful of sugar and change to medium heat

Stir-fry for about 10 minutes (be patient), the onion turns caramel, add the flour and mix well, then add the white wine and brandy, and let the alcohol cook almost volatilize (otherwise it will be bitter).

Pour in the beef broth and stir, bring to a boil over high heat, turn to low heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes, add an appropriate amount of salt and pepper, and transfer to a soup basin that can be put in the oven
Step 5
Cut the sticks into thick slices and bake them in the oven at 180°C (about 5 minutes)

Prepare the cheese crumbles

Place the bread slices flat in the soup, float on top of the soup, sprinkle with cheese and bake in the oven at 180°C for 12 minutes
Step 8
Sprinkle chives on garnish
Cooking tips for French onion soup
French cans can be bought in supermarkets or bakeries. Beef broth can be bought ready-made in imported supermarkets, or you can boil it yourself, you can’t replace it with water.
