Basmati rice — spiced rice

I want to use food to travel with my baby. This time, Basmati rice was chosen to represent India. I looked up some information and found that India is a country that likes to cook with various spices.

Step 1

Put the coconut oil into the preheated pot, shred the onion and stir-fry until fragrant, then crack the cardamom slightly without breaking it and stir-fry, then add American almond slices or other crushed nuts, shredded carrots, raisins (other dried fruits should be chopped), stir-fry until the aroma comes out and changes color, add salt to taste, add 1 cup of water, and 1 cup of washed Basmati rice, and then cook as usual. I cook it in an electric stove + cast iron pot, so after the water boils, I usually turn off the heat and simmer the residual temperature of the electric stove for about 20 minutes. If you use a rice cooker, it is a normal cooking procedure.

Step 2

When stewing rice, add spiced greens, such as xiangqin or green onions, or any spice dishes according to personal taste. After the meal is ready, just stir it well. When eaten, it has a fruity aroma and a slightly sweet taste.

Cooking tips for basmatirice

I use coconut oil, which is more fragrant, but usually with olive oil.
